AP® English Literature and Composition
 

During this AP® English Literature and Composition you’ll explore the course framework, the exam, and the new AP® resources that will help you plan and focus instruction—and give you feedback throughout the year on the areas where individual students need additional focus. You’ll also learn about completing the digital activation process at the start of the school year that will give you immediate access to the new resources and will help ensure that your students can register for AP® Exams by the new fall deadlines.

By attending this APSI, you’ll gain deeper insight into the following key takeaways, among several others: Understand the Course; Plan the Course; Teach the Course; Assess Student Progress; and Engage as a Member of the AP® Community. In addition, specific attention will be paid to the following AP® Classroom resources: unit guides, personal progress checks, AP® teacher community, and the AP® question bank.

CELINE GOMEZ

Aloha From Ms. Celine Gomez! Welcome to the Second Annual Hawai‘i Advanced Placement® Summer Institute (APSI). My name is Ms. Celine Gomez, and I have been teaching 11th and 12th grade AP English Literature and Composition since 1999 in Plano, Texas Independent School District. Since 2005, I have been an AP national grader where I have served as a table leader, section leader for table leaders and I have served on the sample selection committee for the College Board.

Since 2020, I have also served as a distributed and then on-site Question Leader; last summer, I served as an Exam Leader.  I have been an endorsed consultant for the College Board since 2007. I have been an AP English Literature and Composition mentor since the program started, collaborating with teachers across the U.S. to enhance instruction and support student success. Additionally, I serve as an AP English Literature consultant for various district trainings, including teacher workshops, mock readings, and student study sessions. I also work with Applied Practice, where I help with online scoring of mock exams and teacher webinars, and I coach for NMSI, conducting teacher trainings and student sessions. I’ve also partnered with Massachusetts Insight for teacher trainings. I'm really excited to work with you in supporting the Hawai‘i APSI this summer!"
